The NEMG Network Development Specialist is responsible for improving and increasing the awareness of our hospital services with health care professionals, hospitals and other organizations or individuals that have direct input on referral of patients. Effectively develop and maintain relationships within the physician community to build the referral base for NEMG. Provide NEMG leadership with referral data to support strategic initiatives and identify opportunities and threats posed by competitive forces in the hospital's market area.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Develop effective rapport with members of NEMG and their office staff, market NEMG and YNHHS programs, support staff education, discuss services issues and facilitate smooth patient and community referrals
  • 2. Work with ED of Network Development to assess utilization of YNHHS services in the NEMG network
  • 3. Utilize reports within EPIC and other applications to create a priority for potential lost services from YNHHS
  • 4. Develop relationships with community physicians to understand areas of improvement for increased patient flow to other NEMG physicians and YNHHS services
  • 5. Create reports to share to NEMG leadership about the opportunity to increase services in the YNHHS network
  • 6. Develop relationships with ambulatory clinical areas to create plans for improvement based on quantitative and qualitative data gathered from physician and office interviews
  • 7. Attend meetings with practice operations and practice coordinators to understand operational issues and areas for improvement with ancillary and referral opportunities
  • 8. Data mining, identification and reporting of provider referral trend is essential to this role
  • 9. Establish and adhere to an ongoing schedule of visits to physicians and medical groups in identified target areas based on a sound market strategy.
  • 10. In collaboration with the appropriate faculty, marketing strategy teams, and administration, identify targeted physicians and medical groups for development of referral relationships.
  • 11. Initiate contact with existing referral sources on a regular basis via telephone, email, in person, or written format to encourage referrals.
  • 12. Notify appropriate departments or divisions of problem areas for resolution and inform them of needs for clinical services and educational programs identified during field visits.

Qualifications

EDUCATION


Bachelor's Degree in nursing, healthcare administration, business or marketing required.


EXPERIENCE


Minimum 5 years experience in an ambulatory setting or equivalent. Experience in medical sales, process management, leadership, marketing and referral source generation, preferred. Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of applications required.


LICENSURE


Valid CT Drivers License


SPECIAL SKILLS


Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop strong relationships with physicians and other clinicians.


PHYSICAL DEMAND


MMR is required. Varivax (chicken pox vaccine) or evidence of prior chicken pox is required. Hepatitis B (or signed declination) is required for those with potential exposure to blood/body fluids.
Tdap and influenza vaccination are strongly encouraged.
