JOB SUMMARY

 

The Smilow Cancer Hospital (SCH) Network Clinical Program Manager (CPM) is responsible for oversight and supervision of clinical operations and practices in the Smilow/L and M outpatient medical oncology and hematology practices and hospital sites, ensuring achievement of the YNHH strategic objectives and mission in patient service, teaching, research, and community service. In addition, this position is responsible for bridging among SCH program affiliates and regional satellite sites to ensure alignment across the network. Reporting to the Smilow Vice President for Patient Care Services and the Smilow Executive Director for the Network, the CPM works in partnership with the local Oncology Service Line Director and the local Medical Oncology Medical Director to ensure compliance with provider-based regulations, exceptional oncology standards of practice, and efficient and cost-effective operations, promote a culture of safe and exemplary patient and family -centered care, and facilitate the conduct of community based-clinical research.

Responsibilities

  • 1. ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP
    • 1.1 Serves as a visible leader to all center staff and physicians; holds self and others accountable for demonstrating YNHH core values.
  • 2. PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
    • 2.1 Assists SCH and local hospital leadership in designing, developing, and implementing clinically and fiscally responsive program goals, objectives, priorities, standards and practices based on national benchmarks, outcomes of SCH continuous quality improvement initiatives, physician and staff feedback and other relevant resources.
  • 3. OPERATIONS AND SERVICE EXCELLENCE
    • 3.1 Ensures that desired clinical and support services are rendered through timely, coordinated, multidisciplinary, cost effective and efficient processes.
  • 4. HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
    • 4.1 Provides vision and leadership to staff in a collaborative environment that offers job satisfaction, recognition, and stimulates innovative thinking to accomplish goals and objectives.
  • 5. FISCAL MANAGEMENT AND REGULATORY COMPLIANCE
    • 5.1 Participates in development of and manages the site operating budget in a manner that ensures delivery of cost-effective, high quality care at clinical care sites through-out the Smilow Network.
  • 6. OUTCOMES
    • 6.1 Partners with Medical Director and other leadership staff to develop/implement systems for monitoring and reporting site performance and ensuring adherence to established SCH standards of care.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

 

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare, Health Administration, Public Health or related field. Master's Degree is required by December 2020. If a non-BSN, Masters Degree must be in Nursing

 

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS 

 

R.N with active CT licensure. Certification in Nursing Leadership is required as of December 2018. 

 

EXPERIENCE

 

10 years’ experience in management, preferably ambulatory oncology practices. Strong leadership skills including demonstrated ability to collaboratively inspire and motivate individuals and groups also being decisive and taking action on critical issues.   Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Demonstrated ability to be equally effective with both large and small audiences as well as on a one -on-one level and to a wide range of constituencies.

 

SPECIAL SKILLS 

 

Strong management and financial management expertise with savvy business skills, along with exceptional clinical management knowledge. Ability to collaborate with oncology professionals and support staff and the ability to build a collaborative practice environment. Flexibility and the ability to multi-task required. Travel between network sites required.
